We are Henrietta and Jean, and together we bought a dilapidated old coach house in 2003. There were holes in the roof, birds’ nests in the loft and horses’ reins on the stone floor; it was a major move from the tiny shop we had rented for two years, called Mrs. Dougal’s. Thanks to an architect friend’s skills, the complete refurbishment gave us a modern and airy space that earned an award from the East Neuk Preservation Trust for the sympathetic conversion.
Our idea was to exhibit quality, handmade craft from across Scotland. The Coach House Pittenweem opened in August 2004.
We love clothes and knitwear. All our stylish pieces cater for all womanly shapes. Our contacts with a large number of craft makers ensure there is a varying range of work, including items made locally and not found anywhere else. The gallery is known for its displays!
The East Neuk of Fife is the perfect destination for a day out or a holiday. We are part of Pittenweem Arts Festival each August and its two artists’ weekends at Easter and pre-Christmas in mid November. Please e-mail us if you would like details of these events. We look forward to your visit.
Our gallery is just off the High Street, at the top of School Wynd next to the Post Office.
Our opening hours are:
Monday to Saturday 11.00-4.00
January to April 1st: Saturdays only
